In a published story former Cuyahoga County Coroner Elizabeth Balraj told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that she ruled the fire an arson after doing an walk-thru investigation and interviewing a electrician. BUT in keeping with her tradition of disclosure she told this blogger that she ruled the fire an arson because "THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME TOO"...WTF!!!!!
If she doesn't rule this an arson does Lewis ever get charged? Before you discount the question consider this...several years back a Cleveland firefighter was indicted one day after his elderly neighbor died after spending over a year in the hospital after an alleged fight with the firefighter. I asked Balraj some questions the next day and it was clear she had no idea what happened during or after the fight while the elderly man was in the hospital. When I asked why she ruled the death a homicide she replied "BECAUSE THE PROSECUTOR TOLD ME TOO!" After I passed this along to the man's attorney he ripped Balraj a new one and got a not guilty verdict for his client
Balraj once told me she had never left her office once to do an investigation in 16 years ..yet she testified in dozens of trials to information she could only have gotten from the police NOT FIRST HAND INFORMATION BUT SECOND HAND HEARSAY!!!! HOW MANY MANY PEOPLE ARE BEHIND BARS BECAUSE OF THIS WOMAN?
